My first time trying tamales so I have no real point of reference but they were delicious! The kind woman at the counter lead me through what I should order and how to eat it. Awesome experience, definitely putting these tamales on rotation!The place also doubles as a specialty grocer, great to note for any home cooks who can’t find the right dried chilies at conventional grocery stores.

Very good grocery and food. I got a vegetable empanada. The pastry could be a little better but the filling made up for it. The grocery had the biggest bottle of Jarritos that I’ve ever seen, at the same price as a smaller bottle at many other shops! The service was efficient but warm.Will definitely return to try the churros

Finally tried this place and I wish I had tried it sooner! Everything was delicious and fresh and the atmosphere was very fun and friendly. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes, everything smelled amazing!

If you're homesick for some authentic latino snacks or groceries, this is the place to go! They've got many of my favourite candies from my childhood (Pulparindos and Paletas Payaso) as well as fresh tortillas and even queso Oaxaca. I love picking up huge bottles of Chamoy here - the price is always right at Mercado Latino. A great little spot to explore and take advantage of right here in Ottawa!
